About Reading Labels

Ingredients

Ingredients are listed in descending order, with the first being the most abundant. Avoid foods with non-nutritious food starch, tapioca, or sweeteners—sugar, corn syrup, mannitol, sorbitol, fruit juice concentrate and fructose. Naturally, it is best to choose foods made with certified organic ingredients.

Nutritional Facts

By disclosing how many calories and nutrients are in each serving, the Nutrition Facts panel allows meaningful comparison between brands. Remember that babies need more calories per pound than adults. Dietary fats have twice as many calories as carbohydrates or protein, and vegetable fat can replace the essential fatty acids babies get from mother’s milk.

Daily Values

The Daily Values disclosed on the Nutrition Facts panel represent the average—not the optimal—intake of vitamins and minerals. Be sure your child’s daily diet provides 100% or more of the Daily Value for vitamins, minerals and protein. If not, broaden your offerings of age appropriate foods, or ask your health care provider about supplementation.

Organic Baby products are always produced with your baby’s health and nutrition in mind.
